Create a poem around the themes of community & connection (human, animal, robot, you name it). Poems will be judged by a panel of poets from the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets in three categories: Child (up to 12), Teen (13-17), & Adult (18 & up). Winners will be announced at an April 24 poetry reading event (save the date)!

Timeline: 

  • April 10: Submission deadline
  • April 17: Winners notified
  • April 24: Poetry reception 6:00-7:30 PM. Winning poets & Runners up will have the opportunity to read their poems and all poets will be recognized at this special reception. Save the date! 

Judging process: 

A group from the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets will choose winners for each age range (child, teen and adult). Winners will be notified by April 17. Runners up will be announced at the poetry reading on April 24. 

Winners will receive a $30 gift card to local bookstores A Room of One's Own or Mystery to Me. 

Rules & Guidelines of the contest: 

  • No use of AI
  • Poems must be your own original work
  • Poems can be written in any style
  • Poems must be appropriate for readers of all ages
  • Poem must be no longer than 2 pages
  • Up to 3 poems per person
